The Help of God

Updated: Jan 21

Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say come: That Christ should suffer, and that he should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles. And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad. But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness. For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner. King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest. Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadist me to be a Christian. And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds. (Acts 26:22-29)

Would we be like Paul when our life is on the line? Would we testify of Jesus Christ while imprisoned? Maybe not just a physical prison, but also circumstances out of our control and maybe in our control also. When persecution rises, and we come through it, do we then say we obtained help of God. Do we say, nothing happened you were worried for nothing. Do we see when flying that our plane didn't crash after we prayed for safe travels? Do we see earthquakes that shook, but we felt nothing, or do we see God helped us? Do we see all the small requests, that God helps us or just figured we were lucky?

Praise God for all the Help he gives us.

Few Scripture References further study:

Isaiah 41: 10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Hebrews 4:16  Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Psalm 54:4  Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.

Hebrews 13:6  So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Psalm 121:1-2  I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

2 Chronicles 14:11 And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O Lord our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O Lord, thou art our God; let no man prevail against thee.
