And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee. And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me. And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day. Ezekiel 2:1-3
Thoughts of scripture this past week about "... my sheep hear my voice...". How the world hears us when we say God says this to me, or even how Christians hear us when we say this. What are their thought's, do they really believe us? Are we really saying things God told us, or just our own thoughts, feelings telling us.
Reading in study on Ezekiel, searching for new study topic to begin, and this stands out to me again. Still feel not prepared to explain scripturally to others how I hear God speaking to me. Have always been careful not to let my thoughts replace God's spirit teaching me. Still pondering a study on this, beneficial to be prepared to explain to others, but also to guard against my weakness in the flesh.
vs 1 "...And he said unto me...", this is God speaking to a prophet which is differently than to us.
I remember very vividly a time when I was at my lowest, done, everything I had loved deeply was about to be gone, when I heard "Get up". So when I see the words above "...stand upon thy feet...", it touches a memory of when I felt God speaking to me through his spirit. It was a Wednesday night church service, I had gone to desperate to hear what God wanted me to do about a life situation. There is a lengthy personal story I could tell, but not here. I remember, my weary answer was "No, I can't I have nothing left in me". But God again said, Get Up, and I again said "No". On the third time hearing, I gave in and said within myself "but this isn't going to work".
What a journey God led me through, how he performed miracles in my life when I didn't believe he could or would.
Thank you God for letting your sheep hear your voice, for shepherding us into thy will to be done on earth.
