So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because you were dear unto us. (1 Thessalonians 2:8).
Do we share our souls?
When we open up our lives and share our personal stories, what is the real reasoning for doing it? We need to be completely honest with ourselves. Are we seeking attention? Are we wanting "Likes", thumbs up, hearts on social media? We often times open up to people who are close to us, rarely do we open up to strangers, people who we barely know, acquaintances. Never do we open up to our enemies.
As we see in scripture, Paul shares his soul because the Thessalonians are dear to him. Does this mean it is easier to share the gospel maybe impersonal, teach bible only, teach the way, or should we make ourselves vulnerable sharing personal encounters?
Lord help me to share thy works in my life for thy reasons not mine.
