About In His Gates

In November 2021, the "In His Gates" personal website began its inception.  While studying Revelations Chapters 2-3 in bible study, it became very clear to me there was a lot of worship going on in heaven, and will always be going on.  I was convicted by how little if any worship and praise to God there was in my "too busy" lifestyle.  I struggled to even follow after Christ in my Christian walk.  Frequently out of church, too tired, too many things going on.  As I started meditating on what does Praise and Worship to God look like in the scriptures, my thoughts went to David.  After all, the scriptures say David was "... a man after mine own heart " Acts 13:22.  My thoughts went to he would be a good example to follow, so how did David Praise God and Worship?  Psalms have many of David's thoughts toward God.   Taking a shortcut to study Psalms - Praise, I did an internet search to find verses.  This led me to Psalm 100:4 "Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise:  be thankful unto him, and bless his name."  Found some commentaries on this verse, to try and help me decipher its meaning.  After finding several different commentaries, found one which seemed to mean more.  It described praising God as giving testimony of what God has done in your life.  This is the "...into his courts with praise".  In all the trials we go through, God is with us and helping us.  As we come out of the trials, we should be testifying of how he got us through it, and the "spiritual blessings" that came from it.

Also, we should continually be praising God for all of our Life's blessings without any trials; like a healthy family, shelter, and food to eat.  Although these can be trials at times, we still need to be always thankful even in good times.

Lord God creator of all things, creator of my soul, my family's souls, I thank you for all that you have done for me.
